Kim Vanderwerf has more than 15 years of
experience in the HVAC industry, so it would be
safe to say that he knows it inside and out.
With a passion for the industry’s technical aspect,
Vanderwerf prides himself as a problem solver for
his customers. “When customers are having an
issue, they can always count on us to make things
easier,” says Vanderwerf. “Answers will be found,
and problems will be solved.”
Vanderwerf has worked at DSG in Sioux Falls,
South Dakota, in inside sales since 2002. He
typically works on load calculations for jobs such
as in-floor heating and plumbing layouts. He also
handles technical troubleshooting, creates quotes
and is even known to design a system or two.
As a specialist in the HVAC industry, Vanderwerf
is keeping a close eye on continuing oil price
increases. “With gas prices going up, efficient
heating and cooling are more important than
ever,” Vanderwerf says. “Innovative ideas like
geothermal and solar heating can save a lot of
money – up to half, if not three-fourths, of an
annual heating bill.”
In the future, Vanderwerf sees high-efficiency
systems continuing to become more of the norm.
