Everybody likes surprises. That’s why it’s so
fun to hear about a company like MAC, Inc.,
our featured customer in this issue. Glenburn,
North Dakota, isn’t one of the biggest dots on
the map, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t
innovative, hard-working people there. When
you see executives from the oil and airline
industries taking the two-lane highway north of
Minot, you know there must be a surprise out
there. Read our story and find out for yourself
why buzz around Glenburn is “heating up.”
Maybe we shouldn’t be surprised, though.
After all, many of the new ideas we’ve had in
this country have originated right here in the
Midwest. In fact, people who visit our panel
shop here in Sioux Falls are almost always
surprised. They’re not expecting the level of
technology that we have there – and they’re not
ready for the sheer variety of things that we do.
It’s fun to see the looks on their faces when we
tell them about the projects we’re working on.
Showing people around our facility has
become one of my favorite parts of my job.
After all, it’s not really about geography.
It’s about people. There’s no question that our
staff here in DSG’s Automation Group is
extraordinary. Not only are they experienced,
but they’re also helpful. They’re not just
technical wizards; they’re also tech-support
wizards. It’s a rare combination, and I’m
honored to be a part of this team.
