things like furniture plates that are a certain color,
size, brand, model, etc,” says Kilber, “and many
times, we can only give a short notice of what
exactly is needed. DSG is very supportive in getting
those supplies, even the hard-to-get stuff, and they
do the best they can to get it to us quickly.”
Just as a golfer relies on his caddy to give him
advice, DELL-COMM also counts on DSG to
provide new and innovative products that can make
its crew’s job much easier. For instance, Kilber
purchased an electric, lightweight Maxis 3000X
tugger from DSG that makes cable installations
much faster, nearly cutting his labor costs in half.
“Many of our jobs are competitively bid, so we
need innovative products like the tugger to lower
our costs and help us get the job,” says Kilber.
“I don’t always have time to see what’s out there,
so I depend on DSG to be my eyes and ears, and
they’re very good at that. It’s one of the main
reasons I stay with them.”
