Big projects aren’t the only thing keeping
DSG Metering Technology busy, though. Water,
gas and electric utilities of all sizes are working
with DSG to add more efficiency and accuracy
to their metering strategies. In fact, DSG has
already helped more than 100 utilities across the
Midwest (see map below).
What’s next? The future will not only involve
more AMR, but also AMI – Advanced Metering
Infrastructure, something DSG is certainly ready
for. “AMI will provide two-way communication
between the mobile collectors and the meters,” says
McNabb. “Utilities with AMI will be able to receive
significantly more granular data, as well as take
advantage of advanced leak detection capabilities.”
