Jeff Ladner
Inside Sales – Fargo
Jeff Ladner has an electrical background (his
father is an electrical contractor), but he never
thought that he would use it in his career. Instead,
he earned a degree in graphic design and looked
to make that his livelihood. While he searched
for a job, Ladner joined the electrical warehouse
and city desk crew at DSG in Fargo, North Dakota
in 1996. What he thought would be a short-term
stay turned into a fulfilling career, one where his
electrical background proved to be useful.
In 2000, Ladner joined the Utility Group in
inside sales, where he remains today. “It sounded
like a challenge,” says Ladner, “and I love any
chance I can get to learn, grow and help the
people I work with to succeed.” If you were to visit
Ladner at work, you would most likely find him
writing orders and quotes, helping out his outside
sales co-workers and even fielding phone calls.
Now a veteran of DSG’s Utility Group, Ladner has
seen the utility industry evolve significantly during
his tenure. Most recently, he’s seen utilities taking
a turn towards the greener. “We are seeing a lot
of high-efficiency transformers, and we’re starting
to see requests for LED roadway fixtures,” Ladner
says. “The LEDs only consume 104 watts and give
off 6,800 lumens compared to the traditional
high-pressure sodium lamps, which consume
250 watts and give off 2,800 lumens. Many of
our products are more efficient, and that’s better
for everybody.”
